AFL 2008 Commissioner Comments

AFL 2008 has come to an end, I appreciate all who played and had a fun year. I look forward to all being involved next year. The draft is always around the last weekend of August. Please all stay in touch and get your retainers in for next year, possible retainers are on the roster page and are underlined. Draft and division info is in the updated standings page.

The draft order for next year and the divisions you play in are determined by the way you finish the season. That is why divisions change. I also need the rookie you will retain for next year claimed for your team. Some of the teams have two. The ones who have none can assign a free agent rookie or wait to see who is unassigned from other teams and we can bid on the rookie who become unassigned. Good Luck!

Addressing bid questions, if you want to know if you got a player you must contact me if he is someone you want to play the same week you play him. I will not contact you to let you know which bids are won and/or lost. My advice to the newer managers is to have multiple bids, or a if I don't get this guy bid on this guy scenario. As well as putting line ups in, put your line up in as if you got player or didn't get player. It is too difficult for me to contact everyone and chase people around for information. If you would like I could have a bid posting page on the website, I will try to do as much as I can to keep all of you updated, but a lot of times it is difficult to talk to all managers all the time. Please let me know your thoughts.

There has been some confusion on bids and the timing for bids. Bids by rule are due Saturday nights at 10pm, this way if you get a player through the bidding process you know if you have them before your line up is due. If this is not convenient for some of you please let me know and we can vote for another time. So please be aware bids are due in before Saturday's at 10pm, line ups due at noon on Sunday. Games before Sunday the line up of a player you have in the game is due one hour before kick off.
